 Inspired by a painting space created fifty years ago in Europe, Creations offers a studio for adults and children to participate in the simple joy and play of painting without trying to create works of art.
About the Space
The studio is equipped with a roll of wide paper and a large pallet of pre-mixed, washable and nontoxic paints and high-quality brushes. The space is well lit. Over time, the walls will become completely covered in paint as the overflow of paint from the paper accumulates, creating a communal painting.

About the Process
This expressive form of painting is not therapy, yet it helps stimulate the capacities within individuals to realize themselves. The paintings created during Creations painting sessions are not created for others or meant to be seen by others. They are not meant to transmit a message. Rather, the paintings are created for the pure pleasure of being able to play with paint on paper, thus fulfilling the need for a natural and spontaneous expression free from cultural influences and inhibitions. At end of each session, participants will take the accumulated paintings home.
 At Creations, adults and children can:
- express themselves through paint without criticism or judgment ;
- free themselves from existing ideas about painting and about how art "should" look;
- discover new possibilities and play with chance;
- express ideas and emotions through painting without inhibitions;
- have a good time with paints and brushes.
 Children have the opportunity to:
- be spontaneous in their self-expression without the pressure to perform;
- avoid criticism and comparison;
- build self-esteem and confidence in their work;
- enjoy a play area and work on a craft project when they need a break or are done early.
About the Facilitator
Painting sessions are facilitated by Eva Maier. She does not teach, judge, or comment on the work. Her role is that of an assistant, providing fresh paper, full paints jars, clean brushes, etc., so participants are free to be, enjoy and create!
